in the middle of nowhere

as we drove there were large herds of sheep and goat. Herds of horses and cows.  They were on both sides of the road and sometimes on the road.  A few times we saw horseback riders rounding up the herds.  these horses were right next to the road cooling off.
Found where we pulled off the road for a box lunch.
the sign as we turned off the road heading to the camp

                 the road
                    the road at a distance
the camp is at the foothills to the left.  if you look close you can see the white Gers (tents)
the sign leading into the camp

               The camp
          A monastery we went to

this was outside the walls.  the goat is eating the offerings people have put inside.

This is the Ger (house) of a local herdsman.  He is 85
Outside,  notice the solar panel, motorcycle, and dish for their TV.  They also had cellphones.  there were two beds (single) inside.
there were no other Gers around them.  in foreground is sheep wool needing to be processed.
